What They Are Saying About Reps Member Battling Adeleke Over Control Of Osun PDP, Oluwole Oke’s Guber Ambition
A talk is making the rounds concerning the gubernatorial ambition of the popular House of Representatives member, Busayo Oluwole Oke.
Oke represents the people of Oriade/Obokun federal constituency at the National Assembly.
A member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oluwole Oke is currently engaging Senator Ademola Adeleke and his billionaire brother, Deji Adeleke in a fierce battle over the control of the party in Osun State, highstreet.ng understands.
The lawmaker, not too long ago, went public with the ambition “he wants to become the governor of Osun State”.
Earlier report by highstreet.ng indicated his interest in the race is ultimately to unseat Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
Incumbent governor Oyetola has subtly commenced campaign for another term.
The next gubernatorial election in Osun State holds in 2022.
However, feelers from those who claimed to familiar with his brand of politics suggested the federal lawmaker may not be taking the governorship ambition seriously after all.
“You Know I’m part of his team, from my understanding of what’s on ground… and how he goes about his political moves I can confirm to you he’s not serious about the whole thing. And I’m sure he’s just flying the kite for a reason we are yet to comprehend, a source gave an insight.
Another sources also cited the fact that the lawmaker is from the same district as former governor Rauf Aregbesola as another reason he may not go all out to pursue the ambition.
Oke and Aregbesola are both from Osun East senatorial district.
Aregbesola, now a minister of interior in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, was the governor of Osun State between 2010 and 2018.
Multiple sources equally maintained it would be suicidal for his party, the PDP to field a governorship candidate from the lawmaker’s senatorial district.
Oke will in no distant time beat a retreat, another trusted source insisted.
