Details As Senator Abba Moro Dumps SUV For Okada Ride To Daughter’s Wedding

The lawmaker representing Benue South Senatorial District, Abba Morro, last weekend gave out his daughter in marriage.

As he was leaving home for the venue of the wedding, there was traffic jam.

He jumped out of his Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) and called an Okada rider passing by, saying: “Please, take me to the venue of the wedding, I’m getting late.” The commercial motorcyclist stopped and he (senator) mounted the Okada and the rider zoomed off.

“Please my brother, take me to the primary school field where my daughter’s wedding is going on. I’m really getting late.” He told the okada rider!

Speaking during the ceremony, Senator Moro described the bride as his second mother. According to him, Theresa was when his mother died and he decided to name her after the late mum as a mark of honour.

Senator Moro recalled with nostalgia, “For your information, that was the young girl that was born when my mother died and I named her after my mother. So, in the family, she is my mother, am happy for her and I pray God will bless her marriage to replicate my mother here on earth.”


The wedding was graced by who is who in the country including the state governor, Samuel Ortom, his deputy, Benson Abounu, Speaker of the state assembly, Titus Uba, Mrs. Helen Mark, wife of former senate president and the Benue State Commissioner for Energy, Science and Technology, Dr-Godwin Emmanuel Oyiwona.

Others were: Chairman, Benue State Civil Service Commission, Prof Jerry Anthony Agada, the Special Adviser to the Governor of Benue State on Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Barr Ken Achabo Atam, Hon. James Oche, Chairman, Ado LGA, Mrs. Amina Audu, Chairman Okpokwu, many state assembly members and host of others.
