Gov Matawalle Announces Release Of Kidnapped Zamfara Schoolgirls

The schoolgirls kidnapped from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe in Talatu-Mafara local government area of Zamfara state have been released.

The schoolgirls, over 300, were abducted in early hours of Friday, February 26, 2021 by gunmen who invaded their school.

The governor of Zamfara State, Dr. Bello Matawalle broke the news of their release in post via his twitter handle.

”Alhamdulillah! It gladdens my heart to announce the release of the abducted students of GGSS Jangebe from captivity. This follows the scaling of several hurdles laid against our efforts. I enjoin all well-meaning Nigerians to rejoice with us as our daughters are now safe,” governor Bello Matawalle tweeted.
