In 1994, Alhaji Abdulfatai Gbemisola founded the Fatgbems group.

In 2006, the most visible arm of the business, Fatgbems Petroleum started retail station services operations with a fuel service station In Ejigbo, Lagos state.

The group has since expanded into a very high-value petroleum marketing concern with several other services, including stations in Lagos and the Southwest of Nigeria in general.

The checks by societynow.ng revealed that after the death of the founder and pioneer chairman, Alhaji Gbemisola in 2012, the company’s fortune remains on the rise.

A rebranded identity in 2017 ushered in initiatives that re-emphasized presence in all areas of operations including the tyre business where the Fatgbems group plays strong with a range of products that cater for Passenger Cars, Light Truck and 4WD, Truck for Steer, Drive, Trailer and All-Purpose, Agricultural / Industrial, including Earthmoving & Off the Road as well as Special Purpose.

Piloting the affairs of the Fatgbems group which has grown to become a leading petroleum marketing company and ranked in the top tier of the automotive services sector are four brothers – the sons of the founder, Alhaji Abdulfatai Gbemisola.

They are

Kabiru Ajibola Gbemisola is his father’s successor as the Chairman of the Fatgbems Group.

He took over the lead seat in 2013, a year after the passage of the founder.

Societynow.ng gathered that Kabiru is an experienced hand in Oil and Gas marketing, distribution, transportation and logistics operations.

Kabiru is said to have 20years of hands-on experience on the job.

The information available revealed that the Chairman is a business executive with distinction, an alumnus of The Polytechnic Ibadan and Lagos State University.

He is said to have brought a direction that deepens the initial vision of the company since he took over as the lead person.

Shamsudeen Folajomi Gbemisola, the Executive Director, Operations and Technology.

Fatgbems Group is playing big in the automotive services sector due to the massive development of technology in meeting the needs of customers. That is Folajomi’s forte – everything about Technology not just in the Automotive sector but helping the Group stay abreast of time and ahead of competitors. The introduction of Fuel Card at fit the lifestyle of corporate – and trendy – customers at some of the group’s service stations is one of such initiatives.

Sulaimon Adebayo Gbemisola, Executive Director Retail Business

Adebayo is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, and the University of East London, the United Kingdom with a specialization in International Business Management.

He is said to have proficiency in corporate governance, financial and international Business management.

Named the live wire of the reform that soared the retail arm of Fatgbems businesses and champion of its rebranding process, Adebayo has vast training in the United Kingdom in marketing and distribution channeling according to information on his corporate profile.

Hassan Adedamola Gbemisola, Executive Director Wholesale Business

With over 12years of experience under his belt, Adedamola is listed as having strong competence in portfolio management.

He is also said to possess a very strong sense of ethics and strategic management.

Ademola’s approach to management is attributed to the recognition gotten by Fatgbems Group in the corporate setting.
