Ex-Gov Kwankwaso Reportedly In EFCC Custody

Former governor of Kano State, Rabiu Kwankwaso is in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC), a report monitored by highstreet.ng has indicated.

The politician who ruled Kano State for two terms of eight years from 1999 to 2003 and 2011 to 2015 reported turned himself in for questioning.

The development came to be today Saturday, October 16, 2021.

Report by news platform, premiumtimesng.com indicated he took the step to avert possible arrest by the anti-graft agency.

The 64 years old prominent member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), according to information became subject of investigation following a petition by Concerned Kano State Workers and Pensioners in 2015, who alleged that he violated the Kano State Pension and Gratuity Law of 2007 in the management of pension remittances amounting to about N10 billion contributed between 2011 and 2015.
