Reelection Seeking Gov Makinde Dumps Deputy
The reelection-seeking Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has reportedly dumped his deputy, Engineer Rauf Olaniyan ahead of the 2023 general elections.
Makinde, who about two years into his administration fell apart with his deputy, recently won the ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to run for another term.
Information pieced together revealed Barrister Bayo Lawal as his choice of running mate for the 2023 gubernatorial election.
Sources confided in highstreet.ng that Makinde and a couple of ranking members of the PDP in the state perfected the arrangement that transformed Lawal into deputy governorship candidate about a month ago.
Mr. Makinde’s choice of deputy currently heads the State’s Housing Corporation, highstreet.ng understands.
