Gov Akeredolu Tells Security Agencies What To Do To Protect Lives & Properties

Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, has reiterated the need for collaborative efforts among security agencies in the state for effective protection of lives and property of the people.

Governor Akeredolu said his administration will continue to prioritise security and give support to all security agencies in the state.

He spoke on Wednesday while playing host to the new Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ondo State Command, Mrs Oluwafunmilayo Bosede.

The Governor urged the command to do more in safeguarding the lives and property of the people.

Mrs Bosede, who was in company of other top officials of the Command, assured the Governor of continued collaboration with the government towards securing the state and the people.

On the Owo June 5 attack, the Governor disclosed that the state is planning a memorial for the victims of the attack ahead of next year.

“We will put something in place to memorialize those who were gruesomely murdered. But it is good to know that some of the culprits have been apprehended,” Governor Akeredolu said.

Earlier, the comptroller who is an indigene of Akure, while congratulating Governor Akeredolu on his recent National Honour of the Commander of the Order of the Niger, (CON), highlighted efforts of the command to rid the state of crime and criminality.

She particularly applauded Governor Akeredolu for his passion and love for the people of the state which made him champion the establishment of Amotekun Corps to address insecurity in the state and South West region.

The Comptroller also promised to synergize with other security agencies in the state to further reduce crimes, just as she condemned the Owo Catholic Church terror attack.

“All thanks to our amiable Governor who has once again demonstrated his love for his people through the establishment of Amotekun and continuous recruitment of able-bodied indigenes of Ondo State, through creating employment and at the same time strengthening the security of lives and properties in Ondo State.

“On our part as Immigration officers, we promise to join force with other security agencies in order to maintain effective and efficient security within the mandate of our operation,” she added.

Also present during the courtesy visit were the deputy Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, and some members of the State Executive Council led by the Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu.
