APC’s Tonye Cole Tells Why He Visited Injured Labour Party Guber Candidate

Tonye Patrick Cole has revealed the reason behind his visit to Chief Mrs. Beatrice Itubo, the governorship candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Rivers State.

Mr Cole, a cofounder of Energy enterprise, Sahara Group, and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) made the visit last week, highstreet.ng understands.

An ally of Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister for transportation in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari, Cole maintained the visit was to further confirm his position that all must come together to work for the progress of the oil rich state.

And also to offer support and inspiration to the politician who recently suffered a serious injury on one her legs, highstreet.ng pieced together.

“Unity is an important reason we are running for office. We don’t intend to make enemies because of an election. Real progress in Rivers State will require us all to work together”, the businessman turned politician who prayed Mrs Itubo quick recovery said in a Facebook post today November 22, 2022.

The governorship election in Rivers State and most of the states in the federation are scheduled to hold in February 2023.

Interestingly, Tonye Cole and Mrs Itubo has Siminalaye Fubara, the candidate of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), back by the incumbent Governor, Nyesom Wike to contend with.
