Lagos Gov Sanwo-Olu Wins Reelection

Babajide Sanwo-Olu has been re-elected as the governor of Lagos State.

Mr Sanwo-Olu, who is the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was declared the winner of Saturday’s governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in the early hours of Monday, March 20, 2023.

He garnered a total of 762,134 votes to defeat his main opponents Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP) and Olajide Adediran of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr Rhodes-Vivour polled 312,329 votes, while Olajide Adediran managed to get 62,449 votes.

According to Adenike Oladiji, the INEC Returning officer, who announced the result, Mr Sanwo-Olu won in 19 out of the 20 local government areas of the state.
