The investigation conducted by societynow.ng has revealed why the search conducted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at the residence of Bunmi Ariyo, the Personal Assistant to Akinwumi Ambode is widely branded that of the ex- Governor’s Chief of Staff Olukunle.

“Because Ariyo was the de facto chief of Staff when Ambode was Governor of Lagos state” a source stated.

Both Ariyo and Ambode have residences in Epe and the places were searched by the anti-graft agency, EFCC yesterday as part of an on-going investigation into alleged N9billion fraud.

Societynow.ng learned as Governor of Lagos state Ambode sidelined his Chief of Staff Ojo and delegated his duties to personal assistant Ariyo.

“Ojo was deemed too close to Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Ambode was not too comfortable with that but he couldn’t sack him” societynow.ng learned.

Insiders confirmed that because Ariyo acted in the capacity of Ojo many believed he was the Chief of Staff.

“That is why where the erroneous information that the EFCC raided the house of the Chief of Staff came from. It was the house of the personal assistant Ariyo that was raided and not the Chief of Staff Ojo” a source explained.

Former Chief of staff Ojo does not have a house in Epe, Lagos state societynow.ng gathered.
