“An Enigma, A Banking Colossus, A Power Industrialist” – VP Kashim Shettima Hails Tony Elumelu

The impact of Tony Elumelu as a major player in the banking and power sectors of the nation’s economy has been recognised once again.

And the recognition, this time around, is coming from Senator Kashim Shettima, the Vice President of Nigeria.

Speaking at the recently held Heirs Holdings Group Directors’ Summit closing reception, the nation’s number two man maintained the proponent of Africapitalism has turned an enigma with significant imprint on the banking and power industry landscapes.

“Tony Elumelu has become an enigma… A banking Colossus. A power industrialist and a force that cannot be ignored.”, Vice President Shettima declared.

Tony Elumelu the 61 years old founder and chairman of Hers Holdings – a Nigerian conglomerate with investment in Hospitality, Banking, Power. Technology, Medical Services, Properties and Insurance – made available videos of the moment the Vice President appreciated him for his entrepreneurial drive across the continent of Africa via his social media handles.

The transcript of the brief video reads:
“When the history of Nigeria, and indeed Africa’s banking industrial revolution will be written one name will definitely stand out. Having carved a niche For himself and engraved his name on the walls of banking and Africa’s entrepreneurship drive… Love him, hate him, but you can’t ignore him… Tony Elumelu has become an enigma… A banking Colossus. A power industrialist and a force that cannot be ignored. He is one of our own born on 22nd March 1963 in Jos, North Central, Nigeria. He’s a son of Africa, a son of the world who believed in Nigeria and threw his heart into it.”
