“Stop And Go Home” – Sanwo-Olu’s Govt Tells Protesters

The Lagos State Government has appealed to protesters in the ongoing nationwide #Hunger Protest to stop and go home as the Government has heard all their demands and is set to expedite action on them.

The Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Lagos State, Gbenga Omotoso made this known while responding to questions by a Channels TV reporter at the Ojota Underbridge on Friday.

Omotoso, who commended the protesters for their peaceful conduct implored them to go home and allow the State Government to start working on their demands. “You, the protesters, have exercised your rights. And the Governor has heard them. Now is the time to go home so that Mr. Governor can move into action. Now is the time to end the protest because Mr. Sanwo-Olu has heard you loud and clear”.

He further said that the State is yet to recover from the wounds and scars of the #EndSARS protest and does not want the wanton destruction that followed in its wake to be repeated. Thus, it is necessary to appeal to the protesters to allow the Government to work on their wishes.

The Lagos State spokesperson, while showering encomium on the security officers for their exemplary conduct, reassured that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu will continue to engage the youths of Lagos just has he has always done.
