No Additional Bodies Found – NNPC Refutes Claims On Helicopter Cash

The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has reacted to reports in some section of the media that additional bodies of victims of the Thursday, October 24, 2024, helicopter crash has been recovered.

The helicopter, operated by East Winds Aviation, crashed in Port Harcourt while transporting some NNPC Ltd staff en route the FPSO – NUIMS ANTAN.

The nation’s petroleum company in a brief statement by Olufemi Soneye, its Chief Corporate Communications Officer, insisted “no other bodies have been recovered.”

“Beyond the three bodies found in the ill-fated helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation that crashed on Thursday in Port Harcourt, no other bodies have been recovered”, the statement partly read.

The NNPC Ltd. wishes to announce that beyond the three bodies found in the ill-fated helicopter operated by East Winds Aviation that crashed on Thursday in Port Harcourt, no other bodies have been recovered.

The Company further notes that intensified search and rescue operations for the remaining bodies along with relevant authorities is still ongoing.

Once again, our hearts and prayers are with family members of this unfortunate incident.
