Why Akwa Ibom Govt Postponed Aviation Village’s Ground-Breaking Ceremony

The ground-breaking ceremony of the Aviation Village, earlier scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, November 15, 2024, has been moved to Monday, November 18, 2024.

The decision to move the event, is a reflection of the mood of the nation, following the sad and painful passing of the Chief of Army Staff, Late Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, whose funeral takes place tomorrow, Friday, November 15, 2024.

The late Army Chief, was a beloved officer, a patriot, a gentleman and a great military strategist who served our Nation meritoriously at different theatres of operation, culminating in his deserved appointment as the 23rd Chief of Army Staff by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

He also, had served our dear State, as the Commander, 2 Brigade Headquarters, Uyo, and contributed immensely to making our dear State one of the most peaceful and secure in the Nation.

We recall with fond memories his last major event in our State, the Chief of Army Staff Conference, which brought the top echelon of the Nigerian Army to brainstorm on new approaches to securing our country and maintaining our territorial integrity. He was indeed a lover of our dear State.

We join the President and Commander-in-Chief, Nigerian Armed  Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, the Acting Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, Nigerian Army and the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General T.A Lagbaja in mourning  his loss

May his soul rest in peace
