Pictures: Tony Elumelu Tells Gains As UBA Sets For Full Banking Operations In France

Tony Elumelu, the Chairman of United Bank for Africa (UBA) Group, On Wednesday, November 27, 2024, perfected a landmark business cooperation deal with the French Government to develop UBA’s full banking operations in France.

Finance Minister, Antoine Armand represented the French government at the signing event that was part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s state visit to the European country.

Present at the ceremony were French President, Emmanuel Macron, Nigeria’s finance minister, wale Edun, billionaire businessmen Aliko Dangote and Abdul Samad Rabiu as well as consummate banker, Aigboje Aig Imhoukuede.

In his remark, Elumelu pointed out that the partnership that would see the 75-year-old Africa’s global financial institution commencing a full-fledged bank in Paris, France reinforces UBA Group’s commitment to seamless international banking services for its numerous customers.

“This partnership reinforces our commitment to seamless international banking services for our customers, not just across the 11 Francophone African countries we serve, but Africa as a whole; and French and European customers transacting with Africa. Expanding into France is a natural progression, with Paris serving as our European Union hub, as we continue to bring Africa and the world together, through innovative financial solutions. Paris will join London, New York and Dubai, as a critical component of our unique global network”, the extraordinary businessman and proponent of Africapitalism said during the signing ceremony.
