Gov Diri Returns To Bayelsa After 3-Week Leave

A cross section of Bayelsans today, was at the Bayelsa International Airport to welcome Governor Douye Diri back to the state after a 3-week annual leave.

Speaking shortly on arrival, Governor Diri thanked Bayelsans for their continuous support to the prosperity government, urging them to continue keeping the peace in the state.

While thanking the Deputy Governor, Sen. Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and other top government officials for allowing government to run seamlessly, the governor also maintained that, while he was away, there was no vacuum in the governance of the state.

“Even if I was away, government was running because the deputy governor was in charge. You can see the whole Exco and every part of government was working, so, I’ve come to continue.

I want to appreciate the deputy governor, members of the state executive council, the state House of Assembly, the Judiciary, all political appointees and the civil servants for allowing government to run seamlessly in my absence,” Governor Diri stated.

Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of the state led top government officials and other Bayelsans to welcome the governor back to the state.
