Globacom, Ahmad Farroukh In Amicable Separation

Globacom, the pride of Nigeria’s telecommunications industry, has parted ways with Ahmad Farroukh.

Farroukh, the Chief Executive Officer, was a hire that sparked some interest due to uncertainties about whether the arrangement had been finalized.

Industry sources disclose that he is leaving Globacom based on mutual understanding as the company forges ahead with its commitment to deliver innovative and superior telecom services.

Contrary to claims in some quarters, findings revealed that Globacom and Farroukh—who was once the CEO of MTN Nigeria—decided to sever professional ties due to differing outlooks on broader strategies aimed at achieving sustained competitive advantage.

“The issues were looked at holistically, and it was agreed that separation with no hard feelings was the best course of action for mutual benefit, and that was it,” sources said.

Checks revealed that while Farroukh has turned his attention to other ventures, Globacom has continued intensifying efforts to upskill its workforce and streamline operations as part of its plan to maintain a frontline position in the fiercely competitive Nigerian telecom market.
