Nairametrics CEO Ugodre Obi-Chukwu Explains CBN Forbearance Policy

Ugodre Obi-Chukwu, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Nairametrics has aired his views on the June 13, 2025 directive from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) ordering banks with unresolved forbearance exposures to stop dividend payments, defer executive bonuses, and suspend all new investments in offshore subsidiaries.

He explained the intricacies of the apex bank’s policy while responding to questions on Money Line with Nancy, an interactive business programme on Africa Independent Television (AIT).
