Commissioner Tells How Gov Eno’s Vision Is Transforming A’Ibom Into A Tourism Destination

Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Umanah, has described Governor Umo Eno’s development-driven vision as the catalyst transforming the state into one of Nigeria’s emerging tourism destinations.

He made this assertion on Friday, June 20, 2025, during his goodwill message at the Annual Conference and General Meeting of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), held at Cedeepeg Hotel, Uyo.

Highlighting the governor’s strides, Umanah urged marketing professionals across Nigeria to explore and promote the transformational achievements of the Umo Eno administration by telling Akwa Ibom’s unfolding success story through creative and compelling marketing channels.

He emphasized the state’s growing profile in tourism, citing signature projects such as the ongoing Arise Resort, which he described as a future premium destination set to attract both local and international visitors.

“In a short period, His Excellency Pastor Umo Eno has turned the state into a desirable destination. The Arise Resort, when completed, will stand as a symbol of our hospitality and cultural pride,” Umanah stated.

He praised the governor’s people-focused leadership style, noting that Pastor Eno listens keenly to the needs of citizens and approaches governance with strategic intent and compassion.

“Governor Umo Eno is not just responding to the needs of the people—he’s doing so with care, strategy, and precision. That is why we are witnessing sustainable projects springing up across the state,” he said.

Speaking directly to the marketers, Umanah underscored the need for innovation, reinvention, and adaptability in the face of a fast-evolving global economy.

“We live in a highly competitive era. It’s either you innovate or die. Marketers must begin the process of looking inward—reinventing themselves, their methods, and their messaging,” he emphasized.

He concluded by urging participants to leverage the advantages of the digital age while upholding ethical marketing practices that promote truth, transparency, and lasting value.
