EFCC, DSS Unite On Fight Against Financial Crimes In Edo State

The leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,  and the Department of State Service, DSS,  in Edo State have resolved to collaborate in tackling fraud and other forms of economic and financial crimes.

This resolution was made when the EFCC Acting Zonal Director, Benin Zonal Directorate,  Deputy Commander of the EFCC,  DCE Sa’ad Hanafi Sa’ad  paid a courtesy visit to the DSS State Director, Isaac Ikechukwu Chikere on Thursday December 4, 2025.

Sa’ad told the DSS State Director that he recently assumed office and was on a familiarization visit aimed at strengthening and deepening existing relationships between the two agencies in the fight against graft and other forms of economic and financial crimes in the state.  “We have been collaborating in the past, we need to continue to do that as no institution or organisation can do it all alone. Collaboration is one of our core values as an organisation and it is key in tackling the menace of corruption”.

Responding,   Chikere commended the efforts of the Commission in the fight against economic and financial crimes,  noting that the EFCC is a critical institution in the growth and development of the country. “We know you have a lot of work to do. Your work is like swimming against the tide because of the level of corruption in our society but we shall support you by sharing intelligence so that you can do your work effectively, so you can consider us as a strong ally.”
