Ebuka Obi And His Mission To Rescue Mentally Challenged

Across many states in the country, thousands of  individuals living with mental health challenges remain without access to care, shelter, or medical support, with most of them often left to struggle to survive on the streets.

In response to this growing concern, Seraphic Homes Foundation, established by Evangelist Ebuka Obi, the Spiritual Director of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach, built a Psychiatric Hospital in Aguleri, Anambra State, to take mentally challenged individuals off the streets and provide them free comprehensive psychiatric care and rehabilitation.

The foundation has been rescuing mentally challenged individuals from the streets of Anambra, Imo, Enugu, Abia and Ebonyi, with a plan to expand the mission across all six geopolitical zones in Nigeria.

The mentally challenged individuals are taken to Seraphic Psychiatric Hospital where comprehensive medical care, feeding, accommodation and social rehabilitation are provided free of charge to them.

So far, more than twenty mentally challenged individuals have been rescued from various parts of Anambra and Imo states, with the initiative gradually expanding its reach into other southeastern states including Enugu and Ebonyi, and even parts of the South-South region.

Through continued outreach and medical intervention, the initiative seeks to address untreated mental health conditions while restoring dignity and hope to some of the most vulnerable members of society.
