Viewers on DStv and GOtv can look forward to a European treat on the midweek of 10-11 December 2019 as the sixth Matchday of the UEFA Champions’ League group stage is held, featuring 16 matches across the continent.

The UEFA Champions League action begins on Tuesday 10 December, with the key early matches coming from Group E, where Liverpool, Napoli and Red Bull Salzburg are scrapping over two places in the knockout rounds. The English giants, who are away to Salzburg in Austria, hold the advantage at the top of the standings, but they could be overhauled by both their hosts and Italian side Napoli (who will back themselves to beat Belgium’s Genk at Stadio San Paolo in a simultaneous clash).

Another key clash on Tuesday comes from Group F, where already-qualified Barcelona will be away to Internazionale in an all-heavyweight bout. The Milan side need to match the result attained by Borussia Dortmund in their simultaneous clash at home to Slavia Prague to ensure they join the Catalan giants in the next phase of the competition.

Tuesday in the UEFA Champions League will also feature the thrilling conclusion to Group H, where Ajax, Valencia and Chelsea are all in the running to advance. The Dutch giants will be at home to Valencia and need only a draw to secure qualification, while Frank Lampard’s Blues will back themselves to beat French strugglers Lille at Stamford Bridge, which will be enough to progress regardless of the result in Amsterdam.

Wednesday 11 December in the UEFA Champions League is headlined by the fate of Spanish giants Atletico Madrid in Group D. The Rojiblancos are placed second and well positioned to join Juventus in advancing, but a slip up at home to Lokomotiv Moscow could open the door for Bayer Leverkusen (who host Juve) to sneak past them and into the last 16.

Other matches for SuperSport viewers to enjoy on this evening include the Group C clashes, in which Atalanta could pull off a miraculous advancement to the knockout rounds (having lost their first three games) if they win away to Shakhtar Donetsk and Manchester City avoid defeat in their trip to Dinamo Zagreb.

Wednesday also features the rematch between Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur (with the latter looking to avenge their 7-2 home defeat at the hands of the German giants back in October), as well as glamour clubs Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain (who have both already qualified for the last 16) taking on Club Brugge and Galatasaray respectively.
