As A Woman, You Should…

You have probably heard it all your life. As a young girl, and later as a woman, there were always directives about what you shouldn’t do.

As a woman, you shouldn’t be too ambitious, make too much money, ask too many questions, be too loud, too confident, or too certain of yourself.

Sometimes, these words were said by women and men out of ignorance. And somehow, they were passed down through generations without much thought. All of these pointed out that there is a certain way a woman is expected to exist in the world.

For many women before us, those expectations shaped the choices they made. They worked around the boundaries placed in front of them. They learned how to succeed quietly, how to endure patiently, and how to make space for themselves wherever they could.

But

The world has shifted, and a different kind of woman has emerged.

The new generation woman. Me, You, Us.

We are not defined by resistance alone.

We don’t spend time asking if I am allowed in the room. With preparation, competence and confidence, I enter cause I belong.

I nurture my ambitions, voice my doubts when things don’t make sense, learn new skills when the situation demands it and refuse to shrink my potential simply because someone else might find it intimidating.

YOU are redefining leadership, challenging outdated expectations and showing women and girls that curiosity and confidence are not things to apologise for.

In many ways, WE represent Possibility.

While many organisations tend to do women initiatives to simply tick a quota off the box, United Bank for Africa ensures that this belief is not just acknowledged, but embedded in how experiences are created, platforms are built, and women are engaged across every touchpoint. Women are placed at the centre, not as an afterthought, but as a priority, because they are qualified.

This is why the gen w platform was created, a space designed to support, empower, and connect women navigating different stages of ambition, leadership, business, and personal growth. It is a community that recognises that the journey is not one-size-fits-all, and that every woman deserves access to the tools, conversations, and opportunities that help her move forward.

So, as a woman, I think you know, you should be on the gen w platform without delay at, https://www.ubagroup.com/gen-w/.
