Faleke Endorses Dep Gov Hamzat For Lagos 2027 Guber Race
James Faleke, the lawmaker representing Ikeja Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially endorsed Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat for the 2027 Lagos State governorship election.
Faleke, a high-ranking member of the National Assembly and a staunch ally of President Bola Tinubu, made the declaration in a Facebook post on Friday evening, April 10, 2026. His endorsement comes just weeks ahead of the party primaries scheduled for May 2026.
In the post, Faleke called on his supporters within Ikeja and across Lagos State to throw their full weight behind Hamzat’s ambition.
The lawmaker wrote: “Good evening all. As we prepare for party primaries next month, I urge all our supporters in Ikeja Federal Constituency and Lagos State to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State from 2027–2035. IJN. Amen!”
The endorsement is seen as a significant boost for Hamzat, signaling strong internal alignment within the party’s leadership as the race to succeed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu intensifies.
