BUA Group Chairman Abdul Samad Rabiu Decorated Man Of The Year At 2025 Independent Awards

The Founder and Executive Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, CFR, has been decorated as the Man of the Year at the prestigious 2025 Daily Independent Awards.

The ceremony, held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, was in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the respected media organisation.

Rabiu was bestowed with the high-profile honour in recognition of his visionary leadership, transformative industrial impact, and outstanding contributions to the Nigerian economy. His unparalleled philanthropic efforts across the African continent were also cited as major factors in his selection.

Under Rabiu’s leadership, BUA Group – with huge investment in critical sectors including cement infrastructure, energy, mining, and food processing, spanning sugar, flour, rice, pasta, and edible oils – has evolved from its inception in 1988 into one of Africa’s largest and most profitable indigenous conglomerates.

Beyond industrialisation, Abdul Samad Rabiu has relentlessly driven social impact through the Abdul Samad Rabiu Africa Initiative (ASR Africa), a multi-million-dollar annual fund dedicated to health, education, and social development across the continent.
