BUA Group Warns Public Against Fake AI Investment Video Featuring Chairman Rabiu

BUA Group has issued an official statement dissociating its Chairman from an AI-generated video circulating on social media. The deepfake video promotes a fraudulent investment scheme that promises unrealistic returns.

The manipulated clip features billionaire Abdul Samad Rabiu, purportedly assuring unsuspecting Nigerians of outrageous financial payouts.

In a rebuttal titled “Fraudulent AI Investment Promo Video,” BUA Group management urged the public to ignore the scam and report the perpetrators to law enforcement. The official statement reads:

“Our attention has been drawn to an AI-generated video circulating on social media platforms. It promises the general public unrealistic investment returns and depicts our Founder/Executive Chairman promoting a platform targeted at luring unsuspecting individuals.
We wish to clearly state that neither our Founder/Executive Chairman, Abdul Samad Rabiu (CFR, CON), BUA Group, nor any of our subsidiaries is associated with this platform or its purported investment promises.
Members of the public are advised to disregard this video and its messaging. Please refrain from engaging with any platform or individual promising unrealistic returns. Such entities should be reported immediately to the appropriate law enforcement agencies.”
