Gov Aiyedatiwa Visits Dangote, Advances Talks On Olokola FTZ Project

Ondo State Governor, His Excellency, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on Saturday paid a working visit to the Founder and President of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, in Lagos.

The meeting was a continuation of ongoing engagements between the Ondo State Government and the Dangote Group on the proposed industrial zone at the Olokola Free Trade Zone.

Speaking after the meeting, Governor Aiyedatiwa said the discussions focused on concrete steps to accelerate the development of the Olokola FTZ as a multi-sector industrial hub that will leverage Ondo State’s strategic coastline, deep seaport potential, and abundant natural resources.

The Governor noted that the free trade zone remains a priority project of his administration under the ‘OUR EASE’ agenda, with the potential to attract massive investments, create thousands of direct and indirect jobs, and position Ondo State as a leading industrial and maritime destination in Nigeria.

“Alhaji Dangote is a visionary investor and a true patriot. Our conversation today centered on how we can partner to unlock the full economic potential of the zone for the benefit of our people, the Southwest region, and Nigeria at large,” the Governor said.

He added that both parties reviewed progress made so far and agreed on next steps, including technical engagements, infrastructure planning, and modalities for private sector participation in the FTZ.

Governor Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to Alhaji Dangote for his continued interest in Ondo State and for his commitment to industrializing Nigeria.

He reaffirmed his administration’s readiness to provide all necessary incentives, policy support, and enabling environment to ensure the timely take-off of the project.
