Video: “I Flogged Them” — In London, Gov Adeleke Speaks On Defeating Oyetola-Backed Candidate
Ademola Adeleke, the newly re-elected governor of Osun State, has reacted to his recent electoral victory, boasting about how he defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.
Adeleke, who ran under the platform of the Accord Party after his high-profile defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), made the remarks while on vacation during an interview session in London, United Kingdom.
“I came back and defeated the incumbent then, and now they wanted to defeat me as an incumbent. I flogged them. I became a bulldozer,” Adeleke said in the trending video clip.
The footage was shared on Facebook by the governor’s Special Assistant, Oni Gbenga Lawrence.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Adeleke the winner of the off-cycle gubernatorial election held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to secure his second term, trouncing the APC’s Oyebamiji—a former commissioner strongly backed by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola. Oyebamiji finished second with 444,815 votes.
Governor Adeleke, a former Senator of the Federal Republic, famously entered the Osun Government House in 2022 after defeating then-incumbent Governor Oyetola to secure his first term ticket.
