Gov Eno Assures Investors Of Administration’s Support For State Growth
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has assured investors of sustained support and partnership, stressing that his administration is committed to the protection and security of investments in the State.
The Governor gave the assurance when he received the management of Seplat Energy led by the Chairman, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, who paid him a courtesy visit in Government House, Uyo.
He congratulated the new Chief Executive Officer of the company, Engr. Effiong Okon, on his appointment and assumption of duty, stating that his appointment is not only to serve the interest of Seplat, but also that of Akwa Ibom State.
The Governor applauded Seplat Energy for its sense of responsibility, concern, and collaboration with the State Government thus far, and urged the company not to rest on its oars, but device measures to improve on the fortunes of their host communities and the State generally.
He noted that Akwa Ibom has remained very peaceful due to the intentional teamwork of Government, security agencies and the people to drive development, and pledged to continue to work with the company to enhance peace in the State.
Governor Eno commended Senator Udoma whom he described as one of the great sons of the State, and expressed confidence in the new Management to deliver on its set objectives and ensure greater impact on the communities.
Earlier, the Chairman of Seplat Energy , Senator Udoma, had commended the Governor for his visionary and impactful leadership in the State, disclosing that the team visited to introduce the new CEO, Engr. Effiong Okon, to the Governor for a better working relationship.
In his remarks, Engr. Okon expressed delight to be back home to work for the benefit of the State and its people while equally serving the organization.
Other members of the Seplat team included; Director, External Affairs and Social Performance, Chioma Afe; Managing Director, Offshore Operations, Ikponwonsa Ogeimwonyi; Vice President, Human Resources, Eno Udobong – Ntia; and Vice President, Joint Venture Operations, John Itsueli.
In the Governor’s team at the meeting were; the Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; the Executive Assistant and Chief Delivery Advisor to the Governor, Mr. Aniefiok Johnson; members of the State Executive Council; and other Government functionaries.
