The Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has subtly confirmed a rift exists between him and the national leader of All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Mallam El-Rufai revealed status of his relationship with Asiwaju Tinubu at a Webinar put together in commemoration of 63rd birthday of Ogbeni Rauf Adesoji Aregbesola.

The webinar tagged, ‘Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola Colloquium 2020,’ with the theme, ‘Government Unusual: Innovative economic solutions to unlock mass prosperity, held on Saturday May 30, 2020.

Aregbesola, a former governor of Osun State and current Minister of Interior in the government of President Muhammadu Buhari is a close ally of Asiwaju Tinubu.

While congratulating Aregbesola, El-rufai who acknowledged the celebrant as his man any day maintained Tinubu was not his man.

“I want to congratulate my brother, Ogbeni (Aregbesola), on his birthday. You know I’m your man any day. I’m not Asiwaju’s man and you are Asiwaju’s man, but I am your man any day. Asiwaju and I have differences but you and I have no differences”, Governor El-Rufai stated.

Interestingly Asiwaju Tinubu and Nasir El-Rufai are top members of the ruling All Progressives Congress. Both are said to be nursing presidential ambition ahead 2023 general election.
