The former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu is finally a free man.

This development is courtesy a pronouncement by a Federal High Court in Lagos which order his immediate release.

Mr Orji Kalu, a member of the ruling All Progressives Congress, is the senator representing the people of Abia North in the senate.

He was sent to Kuje Correctional Service centre, Abuja in 2019 December following his conviction for stealing N7.65billion belonging to Abia State while in charge as governor.

The judgement that set Mr Kalu free was delivered by Justice Mohammad Liman.

Findings revealed the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) did not object Mr Kalu’s Counsel’s position that led to the ruling.
