Why Ondo Assembly Suspended Deputy Speaker, Ogundeji

Ondo State House of Assembly led by Bamidele Oleyelogun has suspended its Deputy Speaker, Iroju Ogundeji.

Also axed alongside the deputy speaker is Adewale Williams.

They were reportedly suspended for what the leadership of the state lawmakers tagged unruly act during commencement of impeachment proceedings against the state Deputy Governor Agboola Ajayi who recently dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr Ajayi’s impeachment notice was signed by 14 out of 23 members of the state assembly.

Oloyelogun and Williams were among the nine lawmakers who did not sign the impeachment notice against the deputy governor.
