The Lagos state House of Assembly has thrown weight behind the Jide Sanwo-Olu in the battle to determine the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos for the 2019 general elections.
Societynow.ng learned that the development came to be early this morning, Saturday, September 29 2018.

The decision was reached at a well-attended session of the Lagos House of Assembly societynow.ng confirmed.
The session was headed by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa societynow.ng confirmed.
“Not less than 36 members of the 40 members strong House of Assembly took the decision” societynow.ng learned.

Honourable Funmilayo Tejuosho confirmed the development as Chairman of the House Committee on information and strategy.

Checks by societynow.ng revealed this move serves as a major blow to whatever hope re-election seeking Governor Akinwunmi Ambode has to retain party ticket as party’s gubernatorial candidate.

Opposition from the Governor stems from allegations decorating his performance and abuse of party rules.

The powers to that helped Ambode to power had thrown up former commissioner Sanwo-Olu as the perfect alternative.

Sanwo-Olu’s image and acceptance had skyrocketed within a short time of declaring ambition to become next Governor of Lagos state.

“And this latest endorsement by the Lagos state house of assembly just boosted Sanwoolu’s chances at success beyond measures” a source asserted to societynow.ng.
