I have received thousands of calls and messages in the past four hours from a greatly excited or disturbed populace (depending on the divide the caller supports) seeking clarifications as to a report circulating on the social media that the primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held in Osun State on 20th July 2018 had been nullified by the court in the suit I filed at the Federal High Court, Abuja challenging the conduct and outcome of the said primary election.

I consider it highly imperative to state that the report is false. The case came up for hearing yesterday 13th September 2018 but neither APC nor INEC was represented in court notwithstanding the fact that the two defendants had been served with all our processes since 8th August, 2018.

Based on the above development, the court considered that the defendants be given one more opportunity to come and defend the case. I feel this is more consistent with the rules of natural justice, hence, we took 27th September for hearing of the substantive matter.

May I reiterate that my philosophy is ‘tell no lies, claim no easy victory” as propounded by the revolutionary Amilcar Cabral. While I thank my numerous supporters who have called to demand the factual representation of the  state of affairs, I hereby encourage them by reiterating that the demeaning subterfuge of July 20 shall not go unremedied as we are committed to the struggle. The case is still pending in court and is coming up for hearing on 27th September, 2018.
