Meet Hollywood Star Sidra Smith, And All She Did At 8th AMVCA
The 8th edition of the AMVCA organised by Africa Magic, in association with MultiChoice, might be over, but we can’t forget in a hurry some of the international celebrities who graced the various ceremonies.
One of the international celebrities is Hollywood star Sidra Smith.
Sidra Smith is an award-winning Producer and Head of Essence’s Film & TV Studio, overseeing the 50-year old brand’s scripted, unscripted and feature film projects.
With more than 20 years of international and domestic storytelling experience in film, documentary, television, stage, corporate activations, she has become the go-to person for helping Hollywood modernise their approach to audience development, engagement and retention.
Sidra and her team single handedly produced hundreds of hours of content that made the Essence brand reach historical engagement metrics by producing virtual events like Essence Wellness House, Essence Festival, Show Me Your Walk: The HBCU Commencement Celebration, The New Voices Fund Pitch Competitions, Dear Black Men, Black Girls Shaking Shit Up: The Girls United Virtual Summit and the Essence Entrepreneur Summit.
While in Nigeria, Sidra was a guest at the pan-African food festival and cultural day. She also sat on the panel at the ‘Hollywood Meets’ brunch, before attending the Nominees gala held that night. On Saturday, Sidra was at the AMVCA live ceremony, where she and her sister, Hollywood actor and producer, Tasha Smith presented an award at the breathtaking event organised by Africa Magic and Multichoice.
