Police Officer Who Rejected £17,000 Bribe Gets Car Gift From Gov Diri

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has fulfilled his pledge of a brand-new car to CSP Obi Sentome, the police officer from Bayelsa who rejected a £17,000 bribe from a criminal suspect.

The presentation at the Government House, was made on Governor’s behalf by his Special Adviser on Security Matters, CP Akpoebi Agberebi (Rtd).

Agberebi recalled the Governor’s earlier promise during a state reception in honour of Sentome’s integrity and professionalism.

“On the directive of His Excellency, I present to CSP Sentome Obi the keys and documents of this brand-new vehicle for his personal use to support his continued good work”, Agberebi said.

Present at the event were the Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Hon. (Mrs) Ebiuwou Koku Obiyai, and DCP Innocent Umerie, DC Zonal CID, Zone 16.

Igbokwe was arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, at the arrival hall of
