The Governor of Osun State Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola is yet to move into the official residence of the number one citizen of the south west state, findings by highstreet.ng has revealed.
This is even as he assumed the office of the governor over 10 months ago.
Official residence of the governor, tagged Osun state Government House, is located inside Government Reserve Area, Osogbo the state capital.
Oyetola was sworn in as the fifth executive governor of Osun State on November 27, 2018.
He took over from former Governor Rauf Aregbesola – now minister of Interior in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Oyetola served in the administration of his predecessor as chief of staff to the executive governor.
And why Governor Oyetola has refused to move into the official residence utilised by his predecessor and the man he served in his government as Chief of Staff for eight years remains unclear.
Highstreet.ng understands the incumbent Oyetola and family members still maintain the official residence he utilised as chief of staff in the last administration.
Sources disclose he actually alternates between the official residence of the chief of staff and his home in Iragbiji.
Iragbiji, also in Osun State, is not a far distance from Osogbo the state capital.
Information earlier sourced from people around the government house indicated the state of things was due to renovation works being carried out on the government house structures.
“His administration will be one year in a couple of weeks from now and he’s yet to occupy his official residence… That tells you it’s more than issue of turning the governor’s residence around”, another source pointed out.
