2 Popular Musical Groups To Feature On Glo-sponsored African Voices

Two popular musical groups will this weekend grace the studios of the Cable News Network (CNN) African Voices Playmakers sponsored by telecommunications giant, Globacom.

The South African Mzansi Youth choir as well as the Nobuntu, Zimbabwe’s Acapella Group, will entertain viewers as they recall their foray into the musical arena in their respective countries.

Mzansi Youth Choir was founded in 2003 with a dream to use the power of music to bring hope, love, and happiness to the nation. “From humble beginnings in Soweto we began our journey and have captured the hearts of South Africans one performance at a time”, the group tells African Voices.

The Nobuntu, a group of five sonorous female singers, gained global acclaim for its joyous and celebratory performances of musical genres ranging from traditional Zimbabwean songs to Afro Jazz to Gospel.

The programme will be on DSTV Channel 401 on Saturday at 9.30 a.m., while repeats will be broadcast on Sunday at 4.30 a.m., 7.30 a.m.,12.30 p.m. and 7.30 p.m. Added repeats will be on air on Monday at 4.00 a.m. and a 15-minute, two-part editions on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6.46 p.m.
