Ex-Senate President Ayim Released After Two Days In EFCC Custody

The former Senate President, Ayim Pius Ayim has been released by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).

His release came after spending two days in the custody of 41 years old Abdulrasheed Bawa led anti-corruption agency.

His lawyer. Mike Ozekhome, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, reportedly confirm the development on Wednesday, October 27, 2021.

According to information, Mr Ayim who was detained by the operatives of the anti-graft body was granted administrative bail on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.

The former President of the Senate between 2000 and 2003 who later served in the administration of ex-president Goodluck Jonathan as the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, was taken into custody on Sunday.

Highstreet.ng gathered his arrested and subsequent detention was over financial misappropriation involving former minister of Aviation, Stella Oduah.

Oduah, who is the incumbent Senator representing Anambra North, equally served in the cabinet of former President Jonathan.
