Total Health Trust Partners Cancer Awareness Foundation
Total Health Trust (THT), Nigeria’s leading Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), has partnered Niola Cancer Care Foundation for cancer awareness project as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. According to both parties, the scope incudes sensitizing, supporting and increasing awareness on Breast Cancer and other cancers related issues.
The event tagged, “IJOYA 4.0”, is an annual Health Education project, which promotes healthy lifestyle, innovations and living through dance, exercise, wellness and screening activities (DEWS). This year’s edition focused on creating awareness on all colon cancer in a bid to reduce its risks and disease prevalence.
The event which recorded a high turnout of medical practitioners, stakeholders, all and sundry was supported by THT with a donation to assist the foundation run a free Colorectal Cancer Screening and medical consultations.
Speaking on the partnership, Mr. Olufemi Olulana, Head, Marketing, Brand and Communication at THT said, “The need to prioritize cancer awareness cannot be over emphasized. Cancer is a leading cause of mortality globally and any initiative to support the awareness, education and sensitize Nigerians is something we are glad to be a part of as a health insurance organization focused on making Nigeria better, he added, every opportunity contributed in making life better is a laudable one.”
On her part, Mrs. Eniola Salu Akintunde, the Executive Director and Founder of the foundation, said “we are grateful to THT for their support to the IJOYA 4.0 Cancer awareness initiative. Like Albert Schweitzer said, “At times, our own light goes out and is rekindled by another person. We all have cause to think with deep gratitude of those who have lighted the flame within us”. Niola Cancer Care Foundation appreciates THT kind gesture for its support in making this project achieve its aim to reach out to many people living with cancer and to share the message of hope.”
