APGA’s Charles Soludo Wins Anambra Guber Election

Charles Soludo, the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has been declared winner of Anambra State gubernatorial election.

The election held Saturday, November 6, 2021, and a supplementary poll on Tuesday November 9, 2021.

He was pronounced winner by the state returning officer, professor Florence Obi.

“That Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” Prof Obi said in the morning of Wednesday, November 10, 2021.

Professor Obi is the Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar.

Charles Soludo polled 112,229 votes to defeat other top contenders, Valentine Ozigbo of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Andy Uba of All Progressives Congress (APC), and Ifeanyi Ubah of Young Progressives Party (YPP) who scored 53,807, 43,285 and 21,261 votes respectively.

Soludo, a professor and former governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), won in 19 out 21 LGAs in the state.
