What Gov Okowa’s VP Slot Has Done To Ndudi Elumelu’s Ambition

Ndudi Elumelu a federal lawmaker from Delta has a political bruise he’s nursing silently.

His discomfort, according to information pieced together by highstreet.ng, has roots in the fact that his chance of realising his lifelong dream has been jeopardised.

Mr Elumelu, who just won the opposition party’s ticket to represent the people of Aniocha/Oshimili federal constituency for the fifth term, has his eyes on the speakership of the nation’s House of Representatives, highstreet.ng understands.

But the emergence of governor Ifeanyi Okowa as the Vice Presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) appeared to have put his ambition in Jeopardy.

Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party unveiled Mr. Okowa as his choice of running mate for the 2023 Presidential election on June 16, 2022.

It is politically impossible for the opposition, if the election eventually swings its way, to again zone the speakership position to Delta State, a source pointed out.

Hence, the present state of mind of 57 years old politician who is currently the minority leader in the lower chamber of the national assembly.
