Why Aiyedatiwa Refused To Engage Those Plotting His Removal As Deputy Gov

Insiders have revealed why Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Deputy Governor of Ondo State has refused to go to the mat with those who want him out of office.

“He believes what is paramount is his relationship with Governor Akeredolu, both now and in the future” SocietyNow.Ng learned.

Aiyedatiwa handpicked by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu to be his deputy in his second – and last term – office has been the subject of all shades of dark campaigns since last year.

The campaign, attributed to very influential power mongers operating in shadows, is aimed at scuttling the chances of the Aiyedatiwa succeeding Akeredolu as the Governor of Ondo State according to the Deputy Governor’s camp.

The next gubernatorial election in the state takes place next year – 2024.

The campaign intensified, after a brief spell, when Aiyedatiwa took over as acting Governor while Akeredolu received treatment abroad for a sickness that was the subject of intense speculations.

Aiyedatiwa who trumpets loyalty to Akeredolu refused to passionately defend himself even when the unflaterring campaigns attacked his person – and family.

“He believes there is no way he will fight back without going against Akeredolu and he wants to protect the relationship he has with the Governor. So he has opted to allow things to run their natural course with the conviction that he will be vindicated sooner or later when hidden things come to light” SocietyNow.Ng gathered.

The claims about town are that, the people working against the Deputy Governor are “close” to the Governor.

Added information has it that the refusal of Aiyedatiwa to fight back provided his political foes a free reign that, they have exploited to their advantage with the Governor.

“But Aiyedatiwa insists he will remain loyal to Akeredolu by not doing anything that will jeopardize the Governor’s interest. He says if nothing, it will show gratitude for the opportunity given to him to serve as Deputy Governor of Ondo State, something fighting back would take away from him ” SocietyNow.Ng learned.
