Omisore Tackles Minister Oyetola
Former Deputy Governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore has initiated a major move to stop the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola from imposing his choice on All Progressives Congress (APC) members ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
Information at the disposal of highstreet.ng revealed that he has asked his supporters and that of all the six other excluded aspirants from APC governorship primary scheduled to hold on Saturday, December 13, 2025 to stay away from he labelled an undemocratic delegates election planned for December 9, 2025.
And the position of the former National Secretary of ruling APC is simple. The delegate primary election can not hold until result of the Screening Appeal Committee is released.
The former senator who reacted through a statement by Ajibola Famurewa, the Director General of his campaign organisation, said taking part in the exercise would translate to attempt to vote Oyetola and his favoured candidate’s sympathisers as delegates ahead of gubernatorial primary election.
“The controversial delegate election will just be an attempt to retun a pro AMBO supporters and delegates at the expense of others,” Omisore insisted.
Oyetola – a single term former governor of Osun State – by virtue of his position as cabinet member in the government of President Bola Tinubu – is leader of APC in Osun State.
And he has an annoited candidate in Alhaji Munirudeen Bayo Oyebamiji, the man who served as Commissioner for Finance during is reign as Governor of Osun State.

I wish to inform all the teaming all Progressives Congress Party men and women most especially lovers of democracy and particularly supporters of all excluded aspirants for the december 13th governorship primaries in osun state that the slated delegates primary election slated for the 9th december is undemocratic and therefore should be boycotted by all and sundry.
This is because since the screening is because since the Screening Appeal Committee has not released its report which should open the door for the delegates election, The controversial delegate election will just be an attempt to retun a pro AMBO supporters and delegates at the expense of others.
Therefore, the camp of senator iyiola omisore wishes to advise our supporters to stay away from the seemingly fraudulent and undemocratic exercise in order not to be a promoter and supporter of Mr Gboyega Oyetola’s ploy to cause disaffection that could lead our party to failure at the poll come August 8th 2026.
Let us all prepare for the December 13th primaries and take our party, (APC) from the claws of destabilization being promoted by a few.
