How Ex-CEO Of Polaris Bank, Abiru Emerged APC Senatorial Candidate

Former Chief Executive Officer of Polaris Bank, Tokunbo Abiru has emerged the candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for coming senatorial bye election in Lagos State.

The seat became vacant following the death of Senator Bayo Osinowo “Pepper”.

Senator Osinowo died of complications from coronavirus on June 15, 2020.

The election is scheduled for October 31, 2020.

Mr Abiru reportedly polled 111,551 votes to pick the ticket of the party he openly identified with only a couple of weeks ago.

Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval swung the ticket the way of the former bank chief, highstreet.ng understands.

The primary election held in the five local government area – Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu, Kosofe and Somolu, covering 71 wards – of Lagos East Senatorial district.
