Sekinat Oyebamiji, wife of Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the recently concluded Osun State governorship election, has consoled her husband, maintaining that the electoral defeat is not the end of his political journey.
Mrs. Oyebamiji’s reaction, shared via her social media handle, came six days after the gubernatorial contest.
“Keep your head high, my love. This is not the end of the journey; it is another chapter in the story of the great things ahead. I am proud of you today, tomorrow, and always,” she wrote in the emotionally laden post, offering words of encouragement to her husband, a two-term former Commissioner for Finance in the state.
The Osun State governorship election was held on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
Mr. Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes, lost the election to the incumbent governor and candidate of the Accord Party, Ademola Adeleke, who garnered 511,067 votes.

Keep your head high, my love. This is not the end of the journey; it is another chapter in the story of the great things ahead. I am proud of you today, tomorrow, and always. ❤️”
