Abdul Samad Rabiu Becomes 2nd Richest In Africa In Forbes’ Latest Ranking

Abdul Samad Rabiu has emerged as the second-richest person in Africa, according to the latest Forbes World Billionaire rankings.

The founder and Chairman of BUA Group saw his net worth surge to $15.8 billion following a gain of $614 million. This increase in fortune allowed him to overtake South Africa’s Johann Rupert, whose wealth is currently valued at $15.1 billion as of April 30, 2026.

On the global stage, Rabiu, with BUA Group, the Conglomerate he founded in 1988, boasts of massive investment in cement production, sugar refining, flour milling,  real estate and energy sector, now holds the 179th position, while Rupert follows at 192nd.

Aliko Dangote remains the wealthiest individual on the continent with an estimated net worth of $30.3 billion.
