Abdul Samad Rabiu Rejoices With Aig-Imoukhuede On Appointment As President, France Nigeria Business Council

Billionaire businessman and chairman of BUA, Abdul Samad Rabiu has reached out to wealthy banker, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede on his appointment as the President, France Nigeria Business Council.

Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede was handed the appointment by President Emmanuel Macron of France in Paris on Monday, May 13, 2024.

The appointment came to be following the death of Herbert Wigwe, the Council’s former President, in February 2024.

Late wigwe and Aig-Imoukhuede are major shareholders in Access Holdings.

The founder of BUA Group – a Nigerian conglomerate with investments in foods, infrastructure, mining and manufacturing – who served as the pioneer President of the Council between 2021 and 2023, via a statement he personally signed maintained Aig-Imoukhuede’s “experience in the Nigerian banking industry and the African financial landscape” prepared him for the important role.

I want to congratulate Aigboje Aig- Imoukhuede, Chairman of the Board of Access Holdings, on his recent appointment as President of the France- Nigeria Business Council by President Emmanuel Macron of France in Paris. It is a significant moment as he assumes the role previously held by the late Herbert Wigwe, whom we fondly remember for his dedicated service until his passing in February.

Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede’s extensive experience in the Nigerian banking industry and the African financial landscape makes him well-suited for this vital role. As the pioneer President of the Council. I had the privilege of setting the groundwork for the expansion of strong business ties between Nigeria and France in collaboration with the Secretariat led by Jean Haas, fostering valuable business partnerships between both countries.

The council has full confidence in Aigboje’s ability to continue the mission of the France Nigeria Business Council and will continue to support the attainment of the council’s goals
