AbdulRazaq’s Govt Begins Free Obstetrics Fistula Repair Surgeries In Kwara

The Kwara State Government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commenced free Obstetrics Fistula repair surgeries (VVF & RVF).

Announced by the Kwara State Ministry of Health, the surgeons will receive patients between today, August 5, and Friday, August 9 at the Aisha Buhari Mother and Child Hospital, Eyenkorin in ASA Local Government Area.

According to the National Library of Medicine, “[Obstetric fistula] usually occurs when a young, poor woman has an obstructed labour and can not get a Caesarean section when needed.”

The government calls on concerned residents to visit the venue within the stipulated dates while also assuring them that feeding and other expenses are free for all clients as approved by Governor AbdulRazaq.

The governor has been consistent in giving approval for Medico-Surgical outreach activities that will bring vital medical services to the doorstep of the least privileged in the state.

The ongoing free surgeries is another effort at providing Universal Health Coverage to the good people of Kwara State.
