Adeleke Polls 511,067 Votes to Win Osun Governorship Election
The candidate of the Accord Party and incumbent Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has been declared the winner of the Osun State governorship election.
The election was held on Saturday, August 15, 2026, across all 30 Local Government Areas (LGAs).
The official declaration was made by the State Returning Officer, Professor Olalekan Ogunwole, who is also the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE).
Governor Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger and candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji, who scored 444,815 votes.
Najeem Salam, a former Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, finished a distant third with 17,180 votes.
A breakdown of the results revealed that Governor Adeleke won in 19 Local Government Areas (LGAs), while Oyebamiji cleared the remaining 11.
